Women’s Golf To Open Season Monday At Cougar Classic

RALEIGH – NC State women's golf will open its 2019-20 season on Monday morning at the Cougar Classic, hosted by College of Charleston at Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, S.C.
Due to the threat of Hurricane Dorian, the three-day event has been turned into a two-day tournament with a 36-18 format.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Course – Yeamans Hall Club
Par – 72
Yardage – 6,301
Format – 54 holes (36 holes on Monday, 18 holes on Tuesday)
Tee Times – Monday will be an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start, and Tuesday will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start

NC STATE AT THE COUGAR CLASSIC
Monday marks the 15th year that NC State has competed at the Cougar Classic. Its best finish at the tournament was fourth place in 2011 and '13.
2018-19 SEASON RECAP
NC State advanced to NCAA Regional play for the 17th time in the last 18 seasons, finishing in a tie for ninth in postseason play. In total, the squad collected six top-10 finishes on the year.
Graduates India Clyburn, Naomi Ko and Laura Kowohl all closed out their careers eclipsing the 100-round mark to become the first class in program history to accomplish the feat. The trio additionally became the first class to finish top 10 all-time in career scoring.
20 SEASONS FOR PAGE MARSH
Monday will mark the beginning of head coach Page Marsh's 20th season at the helm of the Wolfpack. After the sport was dropped in 1986, Marsh revived the program in 2000 and has guided the Pack to 17 NCAA Regional appearances, including three NCAA Championship team appearances.
NEW FACES, SAME PACK
There are several new faces on the Pack's roster this season, as five freshmen and junior transfer Shirley Ou (Sandhills CC) help make up the new squad.
Freshmen Natalie Armbruester, Pilar Berchot, Inja Fric, Ryann Sinclair and Emily Song all arrived in Raleigh last month with decorated resumes.
