Track & Field Releases 2019-20 Indoor Schedule

RALEIGH – The NC State track & field team has released its 2019-20 indoor slate, as announced by head coaches Rollie Geiger and Laurie Henes.
The team will kick off the season at the JDL Kickoff Classic in nearby Winston-Salem, N.C. on Dec. 7 in its only meet of 2019 before opening up 2020 at the Gamecock Opener in Columbia, S.C. Jan. 17-18.
The following weekends, NC State is set to compete at the Hokie Invitational (Jan. 24-25) and the Texas Tech Invitational (Jan. 31 – Feb. 1).
The squad returns to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Camel City Invite Feb. 7-8 before splitting up Feb. 14-15 for the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson, S.C. and Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
In the final weekend before the ACC Championships, the Pack will compete at the Virginia Tech Challenge and JDL DMR Invitational in its final trip to Winston-Salem, N.C.
Notre Dame is set to play host to the 2019 ACC Indoor Championships Feb. 27-29 in South Bend, Ind. Team members that qualify will then travel to Albuquerque, N.M. for the NCAA Championships, which will be held March 13-15.

2018-19 INDOOR REWIND
Last season the squad collected seven All-America citations at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning the status in every event it competed in. Three of the 2019 indoor All-Americans return for the Pack this season (Elly Henes, Jamar Davis, Cravont Charleston).
The men's team finished third at the ACC Indoor Championships, its best finish since 2011. The women's sixth-place finish marked its best since 2015.
The men recorded seven first team all-conference honors by five individuals, which is the most male individuals to earn first-team accolades for the program since 2003, when the Pack collected nine at the ACC Championships.
The women had four competitors earn first-team status, the most since 2014.
Of NC State's three 2019 ACC Indoor Champions, Ian Shanklin (5000m) is the sole returner.
