Track and Field Concludes Competition at Tennessee Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The NC State track and field team concluded competition at the Tennessee Relays on Saturday, earning five top-10 finishes on the day. The Pack also hit two conference qualifying standards.
Relays: The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of Junpai Dowdy, Cravont Charleston, Shannon Patterson, and Alan Alvarez clocked in at 40.14, good for a fifth-place finish.
Dowdy, Patterson, Charleston, and J Johnson Jr. competed in the men's 4x400m relay, finishing in 3:14.02 for seventh place.
Jumps: Christopher Garrick out-jumped the men's high jump ACC Championships qualifying standard on Saturday with a mark of 6'8.75" (2.05m). The senior's performance earned him eighth place.
In women's long jump, a pair of Pack competitors placed in the top 10. Michelle Cobb's 40'9.75" (12.44m) mark is farther than the conference qualifying standard. Javonne Antoine recorded a 39'7.75" (12.08m) mark. Cobb's and Antoine's performances rank in the top 10 in the NC State record books.
Throws: Tyson Fortenberry (136'0", 41.45m) and William Pruden (126'8", 38.62m) earned top-15 finishes in men's discus throw.

MEN'S HIGH JUMP
The NC State track and field team competes at the Duke Invitational and UVA Challenge on Thursday, April 18-Saturday, April 20.
