RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team competes at the Charlotte Invitational on Friday, April 12 and at the Tennessee Relays Friday, April 12 - Saturday, April 13. The Pack looks to continue its early success this outdoor season, as it has collected 10 event titles in its first four outings.
Last Time Out
The NC State track and field team took home one event title and collected two silver-medal finishes at the Phoenix Invitational in Elon, N.C., last weekend.
Lauren Evans threw her way to first place in women's hammer throw with a 56.23m mark. The Fayetteville, N.C., native's performance outdid the ACC qualifying standard (53.78m) and was Evan's second consecutive weekend standing atop the podium.
William Pruden concluded the Pack's day with a second-place finish in men's discus throw, recording a 45.24m mark.
Missing her personal-best mark in 100m hurdles by .01, Mikieja Covington finished second with a time of 14.32.
Covington took eighth place with a 5.34m mark in women's long jump competition.
