Track and Field Heads to High Point VertKlasse Meeting

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team is set to compete at the High Point VertKlasse Meeting March 22-23 at Dick Vert Stadium. The Pack is looking to build off a successful first weekend after collecting 10 podium finishes.
ACC Performer of the Week
Following the first week of outdoor track and field season, Gabriele Cunningham has been named ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday.
Over the course of the weekend, Cunningham ran her way to top-five qualifying times nationally in three events: 100m hurdles (first), 100m dash (fourth), and 200m dash (fifth).
The Charlotte, N.C., native collected three podium finishes at the Black & Gold Challenge March 15-16, including two first-place finishes (women's 100 hurdles, women's 100m dash).
Last Time Out
The Pack competed at the Black & Gold Challenge March 15-16, and the team's performance earned 10 podium finishes, including five event titles.
Janel Pate was crowned women's long jump champion with a 19'8.75" (6.01m) mark. Pate's performance on Friday is fourth-best in program history and outperforms the ACC qualifying mark (5.84m).
Javonne Antoine claimed first-place finish in women's triple jump. Her 40'7" (12.37m) mark entered NC State's top-10 list.
Cunningham finished the 100m hurdles in 13.18 to take first-place honors, a personal-best for the Charlotte, N.C., native, which sits as third-fastest in school history. She picked up her second first-place finish of the day, clocking in at 11.38 in the women's 100m dash. That time checks in at No. 2 in program history.
NC State recorded another gold-medal finish thanks to Shannon Patterson's 21.03 performance in the 200m dash.
