Evans Garners ACC Performer of the Week Honors for Third Time this Season

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Lauren Evans has been named ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. The announcement marks Evans' third weekly award of the season, the most of any competitor in the conference.

Evans has placed on the podium in 15 of 16 events she has competed in this season.

The Fayetteville, N.C., native earned a gold-medal performance, throwing for a 66'7" (20.29m) mark in women's weight throw at the Virginia Tech Challenge.
She continued her impressive 2019 campaign with her 12th first-place finish, taking home the shot put title in Blacksburg, Va. With a 51'2.25" (15.60m) mark, Evans' performance on Saturday is fourth-best in program history.
NC State has claimed an ACC Performer of the Week honor in five consecutive weeks.

Evans will be back in action with her teammates as NC State competes at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 21-23.
