
Pack’s Second Half Comeback Falls Short at Georgia Tech

The Wolfpack scored its third TD of the second half with 5:17 remaining to pull within two, but a the ensuing two-point conversion was no good and the Yellow Jackets ran out the clock.
Georgia Tech took the opening kick 70 yards in three plays to grab a quick 7-0 score just 1:16 into the contest.
The Yellow Jackets doubled the lead to 14-0 1:12 into the second quarter, capping off a 6-play, 50-yard drive.
The Pack put together its longest drive of the season (18 plays) and covered 93 yards, when Christopher Dunn kicked a 20-yard field goal late in the second quarter.
But the Yellow Jackets recovered a muffed punt and went 31 yards in three plays to make the halftime score 21-3.
NC State opened the second half with a 12-play, 71-yard drive capped off by a Zonovan Knight 7-yard TD to cut the score to 21-10.
Georgia Tech answered on the ensuing drive to push the score back up to 28-10 after a 26-yard TD run on third-and-9.
A second Dunn field goal (29 yards) made the score 28-13 with 1:15 left in the third quarter.
After a second GT turnover on the day, the Pack drove 64 yards and Devin Leary found TE Cary Angeline fro four yards out to cut the lead to 28-20 with 11:53 to play.
NC State scored its third touchdown of the second half when Ricky Person, Jr., carried it in from one yard out, but the two-point conversion was no good and the score was 28-26 with 5:17 to play.
Georgia Tech ran out the clock with eight straight running plays, picking up a pair of first downs.

NOTABLES
• NC State forced its first turnover in ACC play in the first quarter, as DE Ibrahim Kante forced a fumble, recovered by Larrell Murchison. That was the first forced turnover since the Ball State game on Sept. 21. Murchison added a second fumble recovery in the fourth quarter.

The Wolfpack will conclude its regular season next weekend, as NC State will host North Carolina on Sat., Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on the ACC Network.
