Pack Falls in Season Finale to North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State held a 10-6 halftime lead, but North Carolina scored 28 unanswered points in the third quarter and won 41-10 at Carter-Finley Stadium.

After a trio of field goals between the two teams going into the final two minutes of the first half, NC State found the end zone first on a 39-yard Devin Leary to Tabari Hines TD pass to give the Pack the 10-6 halftime lead.

UNC jumped ahead 13-10 early in the fourth quarter, after they took a NC State INT and went 47 yards for their first TD of the game.

Three more UNC TDs in the third quarter extended the lead to 34-10 going into the final 15 minutes.

On their first possession of the fourth quarter, the The Tar Heels made it five straight TD drives for the final margin.

Capitalizing off a Payton Wilson INT, NC State scored the game's first TD on a 5-play, 50-yard drive 1:25 before halftime. After picking up a first down on 4th-and-1, NC State's Leary found Hines wide open down the sideline for a 39-yard score on the very next play.

• PK Christopher Dunn's 30-yard field goal on the Pack's opening drive was the first time NC State has scored on its first possession since the Syracuse game- a span of six games.

• WR Tabari Hines scored two touchdowns in his lone season with the Wolfpack this year – in the Pack's first game and the Pack's final game.

• LB Payton Wilson's INT in the second quarter was the Pack's first in an ACC game this season.
