RALEIGH, N.C. – The ninth-ranked NC State wrestling team opens its 2019-20 season this weekend, as the Woflpack will host Old Dominion Friday night at 7 PM in Reynolds Coliseum. The dual will be streamed online on ACC Network Extra.

NC State will also be in home action both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Pack will host the Wolfpack Duals at Carmichael Gymnasium. Action starts at noon, and admission is free. On Sunday, the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open will start at 9 AM at Carmichael Gymnasium.

FEATURED MATCHUPS
125: #13 R-Fr. Jakob Camacho vs. #7 Jr. Michael McGee
R-Fr. Jakob Camacho's first match in a Red & White singlet will come against a top-10 foe. Camacho redshirted last season for the Wolfpack, going 26-3 overall and taking third at the Southern Scuffle. McGee was an NCAA Qualifier in each of his first two seasons, including making it into the Round of 12 last year. He has also won a MAC conference title at 125 pounds in both seasons and was the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2018.
141: #11 R-Jr. Tariq Wilson vs. #14 R-Sr. Sa'Derian Perry
A matchup of a pair of 2018 All-Americans. Tariq Wilson's first-ever match up at 141 pounds will be against a ranked foe. Wilson missed All-American honors by one win last season, going 17-5 overall at 133 pounds. Perry is a two-time NCAA Qualifier at 141 pounds, and earned All-American honors in 2018 while he was a sophomore at Eastern Michigan. Last year he went 24-10, including a win over 2019-20 preseason #1 Dom Demas of Oklahoma (4-3).
157: #1 R-Jr. Hayden Hidlay vs. #4 R-Sr. Larry Early
A rematch from last year's top-10 battle in this dual, Hayden Hidlay starts his 2019-20 season with a top-5 matchup. Hidlay opens as the consensus #1 at 157 pounds, after placing second and fourth in his first two NCAA Championship trips. Early was 25-7 last season, and placed eighth at the NCAA Championships. Last year, Early scored a 4-2 win in the dual. After a scoreless first, Hidlay notched a takedown in the second but Early scored a reversal. The lone points in the third came on an Early takedown.
SERIES vs. ODU
NC State and Old Dominion will be meeting for the sixth straight season. The Wolfpack has won each of those previous five matchups, by an average score of 22.6-14.6.
In the overall series, NC State leads 15-5-1 in a series that dates back to 1971. The Monarchs last win in the series was a 34-3 win in Norfolk in 2012.
LAST YEAR vs. ODU
#7 NC State brought home a hard-fought 16-15 win at Old Dominion. Both teams won five bouts on the day, but NC State scored a major decision at 133 pounds as the lone bonus point win. With ODU up 12-10 with three bouts left, NC State earned decisions at 184 and 197 pounds to take the lead for good.
