Career
• A four-time All-American at three different weight classes. Became only the second wrestler in school history to earn All-American honors four times.
• Went 5-0 in the Saturday placement rounds at the NCAAs. All five wins were major decisions, he outscored his foes 71-19, with four wins vs. top-10 seeds (#3, #8, #3, #5).
• A two-time ACC Champion, winning in back-to-back years (141 pounds then 149).
• Became the seventh wrestler in school history to record 100 career wins, he finished with a record of 101-24 (.802).
2021-22
• Moved up to 149 pounds for his final season, his third different weight class.
• Earned All-American honors for the fourth time in his career with a seventh place finish at the NCAA Championships. Entered as the #2 seed with a perfect 15-0 record. Went 4-2 and clinched seventh place with a 14-2 major decision in his final Wolfpack match.
• Won a second straight ACC title, first at 149 pounds. Picked up a pair of wins, including 10-4 over #8 Andonian of Virginia Tech in the final.
• Went 19-2 overall, 12-0 in duals and a perfect 7-0 vs. ranked foes.
• Notched a top-5 win in his final match inside Reynolds Coliseum, 9-3 vs. #5 Andonian of VT.
2020-21
• Earned All-American honors for the third time in his career with a third place finish at 141 pounds at the NCAA Championships. Second top-three NCAA finish (2018 at 133 pounds).
• Entered NCAAs as the #4 seed with a perfect 9-0 record. Started with a tech fall, then two more wins to reach the semifinals. Lost to top seed Eirman of Iowa, then came back with a 12- major decision over #8 Red of Nebraska and 15-5 major decision over #3 Rivera of Rutgers in the third place bout.
• ACC Champion for the first time in his career. As the top seed, downed #18 Matthews of Pitt (6-2) and #9 Sherman of UNC in the finals by major decision (10-1).
• Went 14-1 overall on the season. Was 6-0 in duals and a perfect 4-0 in ACC action and 4-0 against ranked foes.
• Seven of his 14 wins were for bonus points.
• Also downed #10 Sherman in the regular season (9-6), for a pair of top-10 wins on the year.
2019-20
• Moved up to 141 pounds after his first two seasons at 133 pounds.
• Earned 2020 All-America Honorable Mention honors by the NWCA.
• Seeded #15 for the 2020 NCAA Championships.
• Went 24-6 overall, 9-1 in duals, 4-1 in ACC action.
• 5-3 against ranked foes, 9-1 on bonus point matches.
• Finished ACC runner-up for the second straight season. Scored a ranked win in the semifinals.
• Named ACC Wrestler of the Week after a 6-0 win over #10 Sherman of UNC in the dual.
• First place in the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open, going 6-0 all bonus point wins (76-13).
• Placed seventh at the Cliff Keen Invite and eighth at the Southern Scuffle.
• Finished the season ranked #12 by InterMat and #14 by FloWrestling.
• Named to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2018-19
• 2019 NCAA Qualifier at 133 pounds. Went 3-2 at the NCAAs as the No. 11 seed, and was one win away from All-American honors.
• Went 17-5 on the season, 8-2 in duals and a perfect 10-0 in bonus point matches.
• Missed two months of the season due to a foot injury suffered in early January in a dual at Ohio State. He was forced to take an injury default.
• Placed second at the ACC Championships.
• Finished the season ranked #13 in FloWrestling’s final rankings.
• Started the season with gold at the Wolfpack Open, going 5-0 and outscoring his foes 62-6.
2017-18
• Started unseeded but finished in third place and garnered All-American honors in his first season of competition, after redshirting as a freshman.
• Upset three top-five seeds at the NCAAs and reached the semifinals before falling in OT to the eventual national champion. Went 5-1 during his run, and was 24-2 in takedowns. Started with an 8-3 win over #5 seed Erneste of Missouri. After a 7-1 decision, downed #4 seed Brock of Oklahoma State in by major decision 13-5 the quarterfinals, avenging an earlier season tech fall in the dual. In the semifinals, took No. 1 seed Gross of South Dakota State into overtime before falling. Came back with major decisions to close out the NCAA run, including a 17-8 major decision over No. 3 seed Plethcer of Ohio State in the third place bout, avenging a dual loss.
• Went 27-10 overall on the season, 10-4 in duals and 14-2 in bonus point matches.
• Earned an automatic NCAA bid going 2-2 at the ACC Championship.
• Earned ACC Wrestler of the Week honors after defeating #5 Mueller of Virginia in the dual, 9-4.
• Placed second at the Reno Tournament of Champions, going 4-1.
• Named to TheOpenMat’s All-Freshman first-team, as the top rookie at his weight. Also named top rookie at 133 pounds by Amateur Wrestling News. Finished the season ranked #3 in FloWrestling’s final rankings.
• Started the U23 World Team Trials with a 2-0 mark at 61 kg, before having to injury default.
2016-17
• Redshirted the season.
• Saw action in six open tournaments at 133 pounds and went 21-7 overall, and placed in the top-three in five of the six tournaments.
• Took first at the Appalachian State Open and third in four other tournaments.
• Wrestled in the Junior World Team Trials at 60 kg after a fourth place finish at the United World Wrestling Junior Nationals (UWW).
Prep
• A three-time Ohio State D2 place winner.
• Placed second as a junior at 120 pounds with a 49-1 season record. Was also second as a sophomore at 113 pounds and a 49-2 record. As a freshman, took sixth at 106 pounds with a 48-8 season record.
• Placed eighth at the 2015 FloNationals at 120 pounds.
• Went undefeated at the NHSCA Duals in 2015 and the Disney Duals in 2014.
