
Women’s Golf Closes Out Fall Season With Top 10 Finish At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team collected its second top 10 finish of the fall season on Sunday, coming in ninth place out of 18 teams at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The Wolfpack turned in a final round score of 296 (+8) at the Country Club of Landfall for a combined 882 (+18) – its lowest tournament total of the semester.
No. 9 South Carolina (857, -7) won the tournament title, while No. 13 Alabama (862, -2) and No. 19 Illinois (869, +5) rounded out the podium.
Lea Klimentova led the squad as she wrapped up her showing with a three-over par 75 to finish T13th with a one-over 217. It marked the team's first top 20 individual finish of the fall and second of her career, as it additionally marked the highest placement of her career.
Mim Sangkapong also turned in a solid overall showing at the Landfall Tradition, as she closed out play with a two-over 74 for a combined 219 and T26th finish.
Monika Hartl shot a team-low 71 (-1) to improve 13 spots on the individual leaderboard for a T34th finish. It was her second time this fall carding an under-par round en route to a five-over 221 for the weekend.
Pilar Berchot turned in her best round of the weekend on Sunday with a four-over 76, finishing T73rd with a 231 (+15), and Natalie Armbruester completed play with an 81 for a combined 233 and 82nd-place finish.
NC State returns to action February 2-4 when it competes at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla.
