
Women’s Soccer Hosts Syracuse Thursday

RALEIGH – NC State women's soccer (6-5-4, 1-2-4 ACC) returns home Thursday for the first of its two final home matches in the regular season. It will host Syracuse (3-9-2, 1-5-1 ACC) at Dail Soccer Stadium in a 7 p.m. matchup on the ACC Network Extra.

SERIES HISTORY
Thursday will be the fifth time in program history that NC State and Syracuse have met, as the series is tied at 2-2-0. NC State has won the last two meetings, and last year when the Pack traveled to Syracuse on Oct. 4 it earned a 6-3 win.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State suffered a 2-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday at Ambrose Urbanic Field in Pittsburgh, Pa. All three goals were scored in the first half within a span of 21 minutes.
Pitt scored goals in the 20th and 29th minutes, but Leyah Hall-Robinson pulled the Pack within one heading into the locker room when she put away her second career goal in the 41st minute.
The Pack dominated the second half with nine of its 17 shots on goal and four corners, but was unable to find the equalizer in the final 45 minutes.
SCOUTING SYRACUSE
The Orange picked up their first ACC win in almost two years to the day in a 2-1 overtime thriller against Wake Forest on Oct. 10. 'Cuse also has a tie in conference play after a 1-1 draw at Pittsburgh in its ACC opener on Sept. 20.
Meghan Root and Taylor Bennett have scored five of the team's nine goals this season, while Lysianne Proulx has played every minute in goal and owns a 1.44 goals-against average and .772 save percentage.
UP NEXT
The Pack will close out its home regular season slate Sunday when it hosts Notre Dame in a 1 p.m. match at Dail Soccer Stadium. The team's 2019 senior class will be honored prior to kickoff, and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
