Women’s Golf Improves Showing At Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - NC State women's golf shaved four strokes off of its first round score on Saturday at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational to move up one spot on the leaderboard. The Wolfpack turned in a 299 (+11) at Finley Golf Course to move up to T16th place through two rounds with a 602 (+26).
Kentucky (561, -15) leads the field while Wake Forest (562, -14), Michigan State and Alabama (563, -13) all top the leaderboard.
Inja Fric fired a career-low 70 (-2) to move 21 spots up the individual standings to T38th, and Monika Hartl followed behind her teammate with a two-over 74.
Lea Klimentova turned in a 76, while Natalie Armbruester and Mim Sangkapong carded rounds of 79 and 81, respectively.
The Pack will wrap up play Sunday in Chapel Hill in a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start on holes 15-18.
