PRINCETON, N.J. – The 13th-ranked NC State women's soccer team completed its two-match road swing on Sunday evening with a 3-1 win over No. 20 Princeton at Roberts Stadium. With its second win over a top 20 opponent this season, Wolfpack remains undefeated with a 5-0-1 record.
This is the Pack's best start since 2008 when the squad was also undefeated through its first six matches. The win also extends the team's undefeated streak in regular-season competition to 11.
The Tigers suffer their first loss of the season, falling to 3-1-0.

How It Happened
Princeton struck first when Mimi Asom scored her fifth goal of the season in the 23rd minute. Abby Givens won the ball in the box, passed it to Asom and she went one-on-one to beat out Sydney Wootten.
Nineteen seconds later Paige Griffiths knotted the match with her first goal of the season. She received a crossing pass from Maxine Blackwood approximately 10 yards out and found the upper 90. The goal ended the Tigers' three-match shutout streak.
Over the next five minutes NC State tried to take the lead as two of its four shots in the time span were on goal. Wootten's best save of the match came in the 37th minute when she laid out for a shot from the right side and pushed the ball out of trouble.
A pair of second-half goals allowed the Pack to put the match away. Ella Bonner found the back of the net for the first time this year in the 84th minute off a corner inside the 18'. Two minutes later Tziarra King scored her fifth goal of the season and 30th of her career. Ricci Walkling won the ball off of a Princeton free kick, sent ahead to King and she finished to the far right post.
Wootten was forced to make three saves in the match, as NC State out shot Princeton 13-8 with five on goal. The Tigers won five corners compared to the Pack's four.
