PHILADELPHIA - Gabriele Cunningham capped off the NC State track and field team's time at the historic Penn Relays with a gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles Saturday afternoon.
The Wolfpack junior qualified for the final with a 13.36 time Friday afternoon and clocked a 13.20 PR for the win on Saturday. Her mark improved her time that already stands at No. 3 on NC State's all-time performance list in the 100m hurdles. It also marked her second first-place finish of the season after she opened her season with a win at the Raleigh Relays.Â
Minutes later, Cunningham ran in the 100m dash final, where she placed fourth with a time of 11.45.Â
Cravont Charleston also competed in the 100m dash on the men's side, after qualifying for the final with his Friday performance in the prelims. He finished fourth in 10.42.Â
Tyson Fortenberry was the only field athlete to compete for NC State on the final day of the Penn Relays. He was in action in the discus, and his 164' 3" (50.07m) put him in 11th place.
