LAST TIME OUT:
The Wolfpack last competed at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. The team finished with seven first-place finishes, with 20 athletes finishing on the podium.
Through two meets this season, Michelle Cobb is unbeaten in the triple jump, with her latest first-place finish coming with a 40' 4" winning mark.Â
Tyson Fortenberry added another gold medal in the field events. He won the men's shot put with a 52' 6.75" (16.02m) throw.
The Wolfpack men once again took over the 200m, with Dylan Peebles winning and Shannon Patterson taking third.
In the relays, the men's 4x400m team of Will Hoffmann, Adbur Rahmaan Kelly, Shannon Patterson, and Peebles took first. The women's 4x400m relay set a new school record in the event, as Gabriele Cunningham, Jada Griffin, Janel Pate, and Tiana Patillo placed second.Â
PERFORMER OF THE WEEK:
Peebles was named ACC Men's Track Performer of the Week Tuesday afternoon, garnering the honors for the first time in his Wolfpack career. The recognition followed a statement weekend, during which the NC State sophomore earned his second-straight gold medal in the 200m.Â
Running at the Gamecock Invitational, Peebles placed first with a PR of 20.66. The time moved him into the top 15 of the national standings and furthered his climb in the school record book, putting him at No. 7 on the 200m list. It was the fourth-best collegiate performance of the weekend in the event and currently sits as the ACC's best 200m mark this outdoor season.
UP NEXT:
The Wolfpack's outdoor season will continue with two meets next weekend as athletes head to Torrance, Calif. for the Mt. SAC Relays and Charlottesville, Va. for the Virginia Challenge.
