2/8/2018 2:03:00 PM | Track
RALEIGH - The NC State track and field team will be back in action this weekend as it travels to Ames, Iowa for the Iowa State Classic and Clemson, S.C. for the Tiger Paw Invitational. The meets mark the second to last weekend for members of the Wolfpack to qualify for the ACC Indoor Championships.
Â
NC State's student-athletes currently hold 18 national top-50 marks, and the team has five competitors across six events who sit in national qualifying positions.
Â
Four Wolfpack distance runners are set to make the trip to Iowa to compete in the men's and women's 3000m. Philip Hall will represent the NC State men, and Dominique Clairmonte, Ryen Frazier, and Elly Henes will run on the women's side of the event.Â
Â
A solid group of Wolfpack sprinters and field athletes will compete at the Tiger Paw Invitational, marking the second time that NC State has competed at Clemson this season. While many of the student-athletes have already set qualifying marks for the ACC Indoor Championships in their respective events, the meet will serve as an opportunity to continue adding to the list and to improve upon national qualifying marks.
The meet marks the second time that NC State has traveled to compete at Clemson this season. Both Gabriele Cunningham and Cravont Charleston clocked their season-best 60m dash times at the Clemson Bob Pollcok Invitational in January, both marks that are top-six conference times.Â
