No. 12 NC State Baseball Clinches Series Against Furman with 9-2 Win

Wolfpack records fourth straight win
RALEIGH, N.C. – The 12th-ranked NC State baseball team clinched the series against the Furman Paladins with a 9-2 victory Saturday afternoon at Doak Field at Dail Park. The Wolfpack earns its fourth straight win and has recorded back-to-back series wins.
NC State moves to 6-1 on the year, while Furman falls to 3-3. Graduate student Johnny Piedmonte earned the win on the mound with six innings pitched and freshman Reid Johnston pitched three strong innings of relief to tally his second career save.

- Furman struck first in the contest with a run in the top of the first, but NC State answered in the bottom of the frame to even the score at one after a sacrifice fly from Shane Shepard.
