Evans Named ACC Women's Field Performer of the Month

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Lauren Evans has been named ACC Women's Field Performer of the Month after going unbeaten in competition in December.

The Fayetteville, N.C., native recorded a 49'8.50" (15.15m) mark in the shot put competition in her season debut at the JDL College Kick-Off Classic, finishing first out of a field of 41.

In the same day, Evans took home a gold-medal finish in the weight throw competition. The 68'11.25" (21.01m) mark currently sits at sixth-best in the NCAA Division I Women's Indoor standings.

Following up a successful season debut, Evans broke the women's indoor program record in shot put, recording a 55'0.75" (16.78m) throw to take home first-place honors at the Clemson Opener.

Evans also won the weight throw competition at the Clemson Opener with a 67'5.25" (20.55m) mark.
