Softball Shuts Out UNCW, 18-0

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team shut out UNCW 18-0 (10 inn.) on Sunday afternoon at Dail Stadium.
After three scoreless innings, the Pack scored a combined seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings, then tacked on another 11 in the final two.
Six players turned multi-hit performances, led by Skylar Johnston, Randi Farricker and Chandley Garner who each had three. Brigette Nordberg additionally hit a three-run homer, giving the Pack at least one home run in each of its five games played this fall.
The Seahawks only tallied three hits in the contest, as Sydney Nester, Kama Woodall and Devin Wallace allowed one apiece. Nester started in the circle, was relieved by Woodall in the sixth and Wallace threw the final two innings.
The team returns to action Friday when it hosts Elon in a 10-inning contest. First pitch is 6 p.m. at Dail Stadium, and admission is free.
