
NC State Heads To Compete At Bob Pollock Invitational

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team is set for another big showing this weekend as it sends 38 members of the squad to compete at the Bob Pollock Invitational from Jan. 26-27 in Clemson, S.C.
The Wolfpack joins nine other schools at the meet, including four other ACC programs, as it lines up against Clemson (host), Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Johnson C. Smith University , UNC-Chapel Hill, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. Four top-25 teams are included in the field – the No. 5 Alabama men, the No. 12 Virginia Tech men, the No. 14 Alabama women, and the No. 16 Tennessee women.
NC State will look to add to its already-compiled 23 ACC Indoor Championships qualifying marks and its current seven national qualifying marks. The Wolfpack's schedule of events for the two-day meet is below:

LAST TIME OUT:
NC State put up another impressive outing at the VMI Keydet Invitational, as the team registered seven ACC Indoor Championships qualifying marks over the course of the weekend. Tim Bason picked up a 1000m win with a 2:28.11 time, and Dylan Peebles took first in the 200m race with a 21.12 mark. Von Douglas added another gold medal for the Wolfpack as he placed first with a 24' 3.75" long jump mark. Sixteen personal bests were set at the meet, and multiple athletes posted marks that moved them into NC State's Top-10 List.
NATIONAL STANDINGS:
As it stands now, six Wolfpack athletes across seven events stand in the position to qualify to compete at the NCAA Indoor National Championships in March.
On the women's side, Gabriele Cunningham sits in the top-16 in both the 60m dash and the 60m hurdles. Distance runners Elly Henes and Dominique Clairmonte currently have marks that qualify them for the 5000m race, and Lauren Evans' weight throw mark also qualifies her, as it ranks 13th in the nation.
For the men, Dylan Peebles' performance in the 200m last weekend moved him to 14th nationally in the event, and Joshua Davis still holds the nation's top mark in the weight throw.

The Wolfpack is set to send athletes to two meets during the weekend of Feb. 2-3, with some members of the team heading to the Camel City Elite Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. and others competing at the Michigan Power 5 Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.
