RALEIGH – The NC State men's soccer team (4-3-1, 1-2-0) returns to action on Friday evening when it takes on No. 5/5 UNC-Chapel Hill at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with live video coverage provided by ACC Network Extra. Admission to the match will be free for all fans.

LAST MATCH
Led by two goals from senior Julius Duchscherer, NC State cruised to a one-sided victory over UNC Asheville Tuesday evening at Dail Soccer Stadium, winning by a final score of 3-0.

NC State dominated the match from start to finish, out-shootÂing the Bulldogs by a 15-7 margin and earning eight corners to their four. Just two of UNC Asheville's seven shots were on target, and freshman goalkeeper Leon Krapf made short work of each one en route to earning the team's third shutout of the young season.

Junior Tyler Gabarra also scored the first goal of his career durÂing the win while freshman David Loera registered two assists.

CHALLENGING START TO CONFERENCE PLAY
Friday's match at No. 5/5 UNC-Chapel Hill marks the fourth consecutive weekend during which the Wolfpack has played an ACC opponent ranked within the national top five.

In five home matches this season, NC State is 4-1-0 and has outscored its opponents 9-6. Of the nine remaining regular-season matches on the schedule, six will be played at Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh.

On Sept. 25, NC State announced the addition of a home match to its regular-season schedule. The Wolfpack will host USC Upstate on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Dail Soccer Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

STRONG DEBUT SEASON
Freshman goalkeeper Leon Krapf is in the midst of a strong debut season for the Wolfpack. The Gochsheim, Germany, native has played all 742 minutes this year and ranks fourth in the ACC and 40th nationally with three clean sheets. He has made 19 saves on the season and has posted a goals against average (GAA) of 1.46.

For his clean sheet against No. 3 Clemson and role in the ensuÂing win over Longwood, he was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS (9-1-0, 3-0-0)
-Return seven starters from a 2016 team that went 14-3-4 and advanced to the NCAA College Cup.
-No. 1 scoring team in the nation (2.90 goals per match).
-Alan Winn leads the ACC and is fifth nationally with seven goals scored.
-Common opponent: UNC-CH defeated William & Mary 3-2 on Sept. 13 in Cary.
