NC State Heads to Texas to Take on No. 5 SMU

DALLAS, TX - NC State men's soccer (3-1-3, 1-0-1 ACC) will hit the road to take on No. 5 SMU (6-0-1, 1-0-0 ACC). The match will take place at Washburne Soccer & Track Stadium with a 9 p.m. ET kickoff on ACC Network.

Series History…

Friday marks the fourth meeting between NC State and SMU.
The Wolfpack leads the series 2-1-0.
The last meeting between the two teams was in Raleigh, N.C. in 2024, and NC State won 5-1. SMU was ranked No. 10 at the time.

Quick Notes…

The Wolfpack entered the season ranked No. 2 nationally, dropped to No. 20 following the first two games of the season, and has fallen out of the rankings since the second week of the season.
NC State was picked to finish first in the Atlantic Coast Conference, earning eight first-place votes.
The ACC currently has four teams ranked nationally in the top-25 according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll (No. 1 Stanford, No. 5 SMU, No. 15 Louisville and No. 21 Clemson).
A draw with Coastal Carolina to open the season moved the team's opening record under Marc Hubbard to 2-0-1.
The Wolfpack recently faced its first ranked opponent of the season, No. 23 UNCW. NC State shut out the Seahawks 1-0 to achieve its first shutout and ranked win of the season.

RUSSELL BERKOOOO

Newcomer Russell Berko has already made a big impact on the Wolfpack through seven games.
The sophomore forward from Aylesbury, England, currently leads the team in points (8), goals (4), and shots on goal (7). He is tied with Riley Monoley for the most shots with 13.
Berko has earned a starting nod in every game this season and has played 364 minutes.
