NC State Earns First Conference Win Of Season Over Boston College

RALEIGH – Thanks to sophomore Tziarra King's goal in the final minute of play, the No. 24/23 NC State women's soccer team earned its first win of the season against a conference opponent on Thursday evening as it defeated Boston College 1-0.
The Wolfpack improves to 8-1-1 (1-0-1 ACC) while the Eagles fall to 7-4-0 (1-1-0 ACC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first portion of the match neither team was able to find a scoring opportunity, as the Eagles outshot the Pack 2-0 in the first half. Towards the end of the half though NC State began to pressure more with a majority of play happening on BC's half of the field.
NC State continued to apply pressure in the second half, with all five of the Pack's shots coming in the final 17 minutes of play.
King scored the game-winning goal in the 90th minute, a shot from 30 yards out that finished in the top left corner of the net, as Lulu Guttenberger and Hannah Keogh were credited with a double assist.
Sydney Wootten earned her fifth shutout of the season in goal, improving her record to 5-1-1. She was only forced to make two saves.

NC State will travel to Notre Dame Sunday, marking the first of its four-match road stretch. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra. The Fighting Irish are receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll and ranked 18th in Soccer America's.
