It has been nearly 50 years since the Blue Hens last traveled to Raleigh, as NC State last hosted Delaware in 1968. The Blue Hens handed the Wolfpack one of its nine losses during the season, 13-9, as the Pack went on to make the program's first College World Series (CWS) appearance that year.
