Wolfpack Opens Play Monday at NCAA Austin Regional

AUSTIN, Texas – For the ninth time in the last ten seasons, the NC State men's golf team prepares to compete at an NCAA Regional. The Wolfpack begins play at the 2017 NCAA Austin Regional on Monday, with the three-day competition at the par-71, 7,355-yard University of Texas Golf Club.

POSTSEASON HONORS
On May 11, head coach Richard Sykes and sophomore Stephen Franken earned postseason honors from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Sykes was named the ACC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career (1982, 1988, 1990, 2000) and Franken earned All-ACC recognition.

THE SEASON SO FAR
NC State enters NCAA Regional play with a combined record of 102-44-3, has 17 victories over teams ranked within the Golfstat top 50, and finished within the top three of a tournament field on six of 11 occasions. Wolfpack golfers have combined to achieve 24 finishes within the top 20 of tournament fields this season.

THE WOLFPACK LINEUP
Stephen Franken – NC State's first All-ACC honoree since Albin Choi in 2013.
Jacob McBride – Most veteran player on current roster with 108 career rounds played.
Benjamin Shipp – A freshman, ranks third on the team this season at 72.0 strokes per 18 holes.
Nolan Mills Jr. – Individual medalist at the Wolfpack Spring Open in April.
Harrison Rhoades – Tied for 18th at the ACC Championship.
