Â
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Â
THE SPRINTS
Men: Freshman Cravont Charleston was a high school All-American in the 100 meters a year ago and was the runner-up in the 60m at the 2017 Indoor Championships. He enters his first ACC outdoor meet having posted the league's fastest time this season in the 100 meters (10.24 at the Penn Relays) this season and could be the man to beat. That mark ranks 17th in the East Region.
Â
Charleston will be joined in the 100m field by Wolfpack football star Nyheim Hines, Â who finished 5th in the 100m at last year's outdoor meet and another freshman, Dylan Peebles.
Â
Charleston and Peebles will also compete in the 200m
Â
Women: Sophomore Gabriele Cunningham leads the women's sprint corps and will run the 100m, 200m and 100m hurdles in Atlanta. She was a second-team All-ACC performer last year in the 100 and just missed indoor honors in the 60 meters this year.
Â
THE THROWS
Men: Junior Joshua Davis was an All-ACC performer last season in the hammer throw and holds the school record in that event. He enters the ACC meet with the league's 4th-best mark in the hammer– a 218'9 at the Florida Relays
Â
Women: Sophomore Lauren Evans will throw the hammer and shot put, while senior Alyssa Dunn will handle the shot put and discus. Dunn was an All-ACC performer in the shot put at the 2016 outdoor championships.
Â
