NC State Falls to Boston College in ACC Tournament

ROME, Ga.—The fifth-seeded NC State women's tennis team fell to No. 12 seed Boston College in the second round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday night by a final score 4-1. The loss moves the Wolfpack to a record of 18-10 (7-7 ACC) while the Eagles advance to 11-13 (4-10 ACC).

Match Recap
NC State's standout doubles tandem of Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers started the match off on a high note, extending its win streak to 14 straight matches. The duo, currently ranked 12th in the nation, rolled past Dasha Possokhova and Kylie Wilcox with a 6-1 result, moving its record to 21-1 (13-1 ACC) at the No. 1 position.
Despite the hot start, Boston College ultimately grabbed the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. On court two, the Eagle's Lexi Borr and Jackie Urbinati defeated Bianca Moldovan and Claudia Wiktorin by a 6-4 result and on court three, Asiya Dair and Elene Tsokilauri beat Tayla Stenta and Adriana Reami, 6-3.
In singles play, Boston College extended its lead to 2-0 with a win on court one as Dair took down No. 73 Frantova with a 6-3, 6-2 decision. On court five, the Eagles found its third point of the day as Jackie Urbinati defeated Moldovan, 6-2, 6-4.
Reami put NC State on the board with a win on court four. The freshman cruised by Emily Safron to earn the Wolfpack its only point of the day with a 6-1, 6-4 result.
The match was clinched on court two as Boston College's Borr won over NC State's Rogers in a three set battle. Borr ultimately took the point with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 decision.
