Jasmine Conway Advances to Qualifying Draw at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. - Jasmine Conway of NC State women's tennis advanced from the pre-qualifying draw to the qualifying draw at the ITA All-American Championships after earning three wins over the weekend at Cary Tennis Park.
The 21st-seeded Conway opened her All-American run Saturday with a three-set victory over Polina Marakhtanova of UCLA, defeating the Bruin, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5.
She returned to action Sunday and earned a pair of victories to advance to the qualifying draw. Conway opened the day with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Isabella Wong of UC Santa Barbara before taking down 14th-seeded Mara Gae of Virginia, 7-6(7), 6-2, in the third round.
Georgia Cranford, Roisin Gilheany and Amelie Smejkalova also competed in the pre-qualifying draw, with each earning a first-round victory on Saturday. Cranford and Gilheany both advanced to the third round before seeing their runs come to an end.
The qualifying draw runs Monday, Sept. 21, through Tuesday, Sept. 22.
