
Softball Heads To Campbell Wednesday For Final Midweek Contest

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team will continue its seven-game road swing Wednesday when it travels to Campbell for its final midweek contest of the season. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at the Amanda Littlejohn Stadium in Buies Creek, N.C., and will be broadcast live on the Big South Network.
The Wolfpack enters with a 16-31 record and the Fighting Camels are 28-22 this season.
PACK VS. CAMELS HISTORY
Wednesday will mark the 18th time the teams have met, as NC State leads 16-1 in the all-time series. Last season the teams played a doubleheader at Dail Stadium on April 13, and the Pack won the first game 8-5 and run-ruled the Camels 9-1 in the nightcap.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State traveled to Pittsburgh for a three-game series last weekend. The Pack opened the series with a 13-10 win in eight innings, highlighted by Tyler Ross's game-tying grand slam in the seventh. The Panthers evened the series on Saturday with a 4-2 win, and a late offensive surge in the seventh on Sunday allowed Pitt to take the series 4-3 in nine innings.
ROAD SWING
Wednesday marks the fourth in a seven-game road swing for the Pack, as the team will travel to Boston College this weekend for a three-game series.
REACHING BASE
Jade Caraway and Molly Hutchison both hold a five-game streak of reaching base successfully on a hit, walk or hit-by-pitch. Last week Caraway led the team with seven hits while Hutchison drew seven walks in the Pack's last four contests.
A TRIP AROUND THE BASES
-The Pack has belted 36 home runs this season to rank among the top 50 of the NCAA in the category, and holds a mark of .77 per game, which is 66th in the national standings.
-Ross has had two multi-homer games in a one-week span. She belted two in the team's first game with Notre Dame on April 14, and hit two in Friday's game at Pittsburgh. In her perfect 5-for-5 outing on Friday she hit a game-tying grand slam in the seventh inning, driving in six RBIs with 11 total bases. She now holds 46 in her career, which ranks third in the program's record book.

-The Camels took two of three against conference foe Gardner-Webb last weekend in its last time out, opening the series with a 7-3 victory and winning the rubber match 5-3 on Saturday.
