Softball Welcomes UNCW Wednesday In Midweek Matchup

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team will continue its home stand Wednesday when it hosts UNCW at Dail Stadium. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.
The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 15-28 record while the Seahawks are 28-10-1 this season.
PACK VS. SEAHAWKS HISTORY
Wednesday will mark the seventh time the teams have met, and are tied at three in the all-time series. The last time they met was on April 21, 2010, at Boseman Field, and NC State earned a 15-4 run-rule win.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State dropped all three games in its series with Notre Dame at Dail Stadium last weekend. The Pack was edged out 4-3 by the Fighting Irish in the first game and fell 5-0 in the nightcap on Friday. The team concluded the series with a 5-2 loss on Saturday.
TURNING TWO
NC State has fielded 17 double plays this season, which ranks 39th in the NCAA. The team additionally ranks 59th in the nation in double plays per game (.40).

-Peyton Silverman leads the pitching staff with 11 wins and 169.2 innings pitched, the second-most in the ACC. Of her 32 appearances she has struck out 99 batters and thrown 20 complete games.
