RALEIGH - The NC State softball team fell to UNCW on Wednesday evening, 6-0, at Dail Stadium.

The Wolfpack moves to 15-29 while the Seahawks improve to 29-10-1 on the season.

Game Rewind
-UNCW loaded the bases in the first frame of the contest, as Lauren Moore hit a one-out double down the left field line and the next two batters were hit-by-pitch. The Pack managed to get out of the jam as Moore was tagged at home plate on a fielder's choice and Hannah Adamczyk popped up to second base for the final out.
-NC State threatened in the second inning with runners on the corners and two outs. Cheyenne Balzer led off the frame with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Haylee Kobziak. She moved to third on Molly Martin's two-out single to second base.
-The Seahawks took a 3-0 lead in the third inning with a two-run blast to left field and a solo home run to center field.
-Both squads were kept at bay the next three innings, but in the seventh UNCW plated three more runs on three hits. Merritt Wilkinson hit an RBI single up the middle to score Moore from second base, and Adamczyk hit a 2-RBI double to left field to bring Rachel Willis home from third and Kali Jones from second.
-Peyton Silverman earned the start in the circle, pitching the first four innings, and Brittany Nimmo relieved her in the fifth.

On Deck
NC State will return to action this weekend when it travels to conference opponent Pittsburgh for a three-game series. The teams will play Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday is set for a 1 p.m. start and first pitch Sunday is 12 p.m. All three games will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.
