RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State track and field team is set to compete at the Charlotte Invitational and Gamecock Invitational over the weekend. The Pack's distance runners will compete in Charlotte, N.C., at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center Friday night and the Pack's throwers, jumpers and sprinters will be in action in Columbia, S.C., Saturday at the Shelia and Morris Cregger Track.

What to Watch For:
The team is currently near the midway point of the outdoor season and is aiming to set personal bests, qualify for the conference championships and improve on their NCAA East Preliminary standings.

Charlotte Invitational
The Wolfpack's mid-distance and distance runners will be back on the track this weekend. On the men's side, Ben Barrett (5,000m, 14:22.70), Eli Moskowitz (10,000m 29:24.45) and Aaron Thomas (SC, 9:13.09), who are currently in regional qualifying position, along with a host of other men's distance runners will represent NC State. In the women's races, national top-10 athletes, Erika Kemp (10,000m 33:36.26) Elly Henes (5,000m, 16:01.73) and Ryen Frazier (5,000m, 16:02.39) headline the group. Â

The Pack's runners will compete in the 5,000m, 1,500m, 800m and steeplechase.

The Pack will have nearly 30 athletes competing in South Carolina. Saturday will feature a full day of competition with field events set to begin at 9 a.m. and the Pack's final track event lining up at 4:15 p.m.

Nyheim Hines (100m) and Paisley Simmons (200m) are set to make season debuts in their respective events, while the men's 4x100 team will run for the second-straight weekend.

Javonne Antoine, Cravont Charleston and Lauren Evans all enter the meet after individual victories last weekend. Gabriele Cunningham, who earned three top-3 finishes last weekend, will also be back in competition.

Abdur Rahmann Kelly has PRed in the 200m, 400m, and 800m this season. He'll lineup for the 800m again this weekend after already shaving over four second from his season opener in the event.

NC State is coming off five event wins at last weekend's Bill Carson Invite. Lauren Evans won the hammer throw, Cravont Charleston claimed the 100m dash title, Megan Rempel won the 800m, Javonne Antoine won the triple jump and the men's 4x400 team won with a season best to highlight last weekend.
