RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – The NC State men's golf team completed the second round of play Monday at the 2017 Puerto Rico Classic. Through two rounds at the Rio Mar Resort River Course, the Wolfpack is in fourth place with a team score of 575 (-1).

NC State shot a team score of 292 (+4) on Monday, with even-par scores of 72 from Benjamin Shipp and Davis Richards ranking as the Pack's lowest rounds of the day. Sophomore Stephen Franken followed up his 67 on Sunday with a 74, and currently remains in a strong position, sitting tied for sixth in the field of 74 golfers. Shipp is also within the tournament's top 25, sitting tied for 23rd after two rounds.

The tournament field at the 2017 Puerto Rico Classic features four opponents ranked in the national top 22. Through two rounds, the Wolfpack is ahead of two of these teams (No. 15 Ole Miss and No. 17 UNC-CH). No. 22 Clemson holds the overall lead at 560 (-16) and No. 9 Georgia is second at 567 (-9).
