TUCSON, Ariz. – The NC State baseball team will begin the 2018 season ranked No. 23 in the Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll, announced Tuesday by the organization. The selection marks the 16th consecutive year that the Wolfpack has either started the year or finished the season ranked in the polls.

The Pack is one of eight programs from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) to appear in the Fab 40 ranking, headlined by Florida State at No. 4.

NC State will play a total of 16 games versus teams ranked in the poll and an additional 12 games against teams receiving votes.

Collegiate Baseball announced its Preseason All-Americans on Monday, as sophomore Will Wilson was selected to the team.

NC State opens the 2018 season at home on Feb. 16 against Seton Hall. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park. For the second consecutive season, the Wolfpack will kick off the season with the #Pack9 Party, which will take place on Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. inside the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility.
