
Gymnastics Continues Home Stand Friday With No. 9 Southern Utah

Wolfpack to face third top 25 team of the season
RALEIGH – The No. 24 NC State gymnastics team will continue its home stand Friday evening when it hosts No. 9 Southern Utah inside Reynolds Coliseum at 7 p.m.
Live results will be available and the meet will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Last Time Out
In result of sweeping the podium on bars and floor and posting the top team score on vault (49.025) and floor (48.950), the No. 24 NC State gymnastics team came away from its tri-meet with Ball State and William and Mary on Friday evening with a final mark of 194.850 - its second-highest performance of the season.
The Wolfpack split the meet, as the Cardinals earned a 194.950 and the Tribe finished the evening with a 192.275. In addition to two event podium sweeps NC State posted 11 top five finishes, season-best team scores on vault and floor and three gymnasts earned career-high marks in their respective events.
Pack In The Polls
In the latest Road To Nationals poll NC State remains at No. 24 with a 194.619 scoring average. The Wolfpack remains in the top 25 on two rotations, as the team checked in at 20th on vault (48.881) and 23rd on bars (48.744).
Scouting Southern Utah
Southern Utah opened its season last weekend when it hosted Stanford on Jan. 20. The Thunderbirds earned a 196.150-194.150 win, the highest score the team has hit in an opening meet in program history. SUU outscored the Cardinal in every event, with four gymnasts scoring a 9.875 to tie for first on beam and Stacie Webb winning floor with a 9.875. On vault and bars SUU finished second and third in the individual standings.
This marks the first of two meetings between the Pack and the Thunderbirds, as NC State will travel to Cedar City, Utah, March 3 for a 9 p.m. ET matchup.
Southern Utah is listed ninth in the latest national rankings with a 196.150 scoring average. The team is ranked on all four rotations: sixth on beam (49.200), 11th on vault (49.075), 14th on floor (49.025) and 16th on bars (48.850).
