No. 6 Pack Edged 2-1 in Series Finale

NC State baseball stumbled Sunday at Clemson to drop its first three-game series since March 13
CLEMSON, S.C. - No. 6 NC State baseball came up short in a 2-1 pitchers' duel Sunday against Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Clemson (31-16, 13-14 ACC) took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on an errant throw from first to second during a rundown with runners on the corners. NC State (32-14, 13-9) rallied to tie in the sixth on a Brock Deatherage infield single plating Andrew Knizner. The Tigers walked off in the bottom ninth on a bases-loaded RBI single up the middle.
Wolfpack starter Ryan Williamson worked a career-long 7 2/3 innings, his lone run unearned, on three hits and a walk with six punchouts for a no-decision. Williamson retired 23 of 26 batters faced on 82 pitches. Tommy DeJuneas (2-2) took the loss on one earned over 2/3. Will Gilbert faced the last batter of the game.
Knizner scored the Pack's only run in a 1-for-3 day. Deatherage went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Josh McLain contributed the Pack's only multi-hit effort in a 2-for-4 day with his 12th double and 12th stolen base of the season. Evan Mendoza extended his hitting streak to 20 games in a 1-for-3 performance.
