No. 10 Pack Falls 2-0 at No. 5 Louisville

NC State baseball lost game one Friday night at Louisville
LOUISVILLE, KY. - No. 10 NC State baseball fell 2-0 on Friday night at No. 5 Louisville.
The Wolfpack (32-15, 13-10 ACC) slipped behind 1-0 in the first on a solo shot to left. Louisville (40-10, 17-8) added one more in the seventh on an RBI single through the right side to set the final 2-0.
Evan Mendoza extended his hitting streak to 21 games with a single to center in the first, part of a 1-for-3 performance with a walk. Preston Palmeiro and Josh McLain each singled for the Pack's only other hits. Brett Kinneman drew one of the two walks issued by the Cardinal pitching staff. Andrew Knizner threw out his 15th baserunner of the season.
Wolfpack starter Cory Wilder (3-3) took the loss on six innings of work, allowing two earned on six hits and two walks, fanning four. Wilder finished one out shy of tying his season-long, set two outings ago against Duke. Austin Staley relieved him to face the next three batters, striking out one and giving up a hit. Cody Beckman pitched the final 1 1/3 with one walk, one punchout, and no hits allowed.
