
Wolfpack Completes Second Day of NCAA Albuquerque Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The NC State men's golf team completed the second round of play at the 2016 NCAA Albuquerque Regional Tuesday. Through two rounds at the challenging University of New Mexico Championship Course, the Wolfpack is in 11th place of 14 teams.
Tuesday's round proved even more challenging than Monday's, as not a single team in the field shot at or below par. NC State shot a team score of 314 (+26) on the day and through two rounds, the Wolfpack has combined for a total score of 619 (+43). No. 11 Arizona State remains atop the tournament field with a total score of 582 (+6) after shooting 296 (+8) Tuesday.
NC State's Stephen Franken (T18) and Jacob McBride (T20) improved 22 and 20 spots in the individual standings, respectively, from Monday to Tuesday.

Partially due to heavy winds throughout the round, the average score at the University of New Mexico Championship Course Tuesday was a 79.91. This was nearly five strokes higher than the average round Monday.
THE POSTSEASON PROCESS
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Division I Championship in Eugene, Oregon, May 27 – June 1. The current low individual not on one of the top five squads (No. 11 Arizona State, TCU, No. 15 South Florida, No. 3 USC, Texas A&M) is Hannes Ronneblad from Texas Tech (+4 for the tournament).
WEDNESDAY TEE TIMES
NC State golfers will tee off between 8:25 – 9:09 a.m. local time Wednesday morning from hole 10. The Wolfpack will be matched up with competitors from Iowa and Cleveland State. (Albuquerque is in the Mountain Time Zone and two hours behind Eastern Time.)
