Wolfpack Completes First Day of NCAA Albuquerque Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The NC State men's golf team completed the first round of play at the 2016 NCAA Albuquerque Regional Monday. Through one round at the challenging University of New Mexico Championship Course, the Wolfpack is in 12th place.

Thirteen of the 14 participating teams finished above par Monday, as the average individual round on the course was a 75.36. Only No. 11 Arizona State (-2) finished below par throughout the course of the first round to lead the field. No. 15 USF is second at +1.

NC State carded a team score of 305 (+17) on the first day of action out west. The Wolfpack was led by matching scores of 76 (+4) from Jacob McBride, Stephen Franken, and Davis Richards.

SOLID ON PAR FIVES
The Wolfpack proved quite competitive on par fives during Monday's round, ranking third in the field with an average score of 4.50 strokes per hole. NC State golfers went -8 on these holes. Richards was a big part of this success, carding an eagle on hole one.

TUESDAY TEE TIMES
NC State golfers will tee off between 8:55 – 9:39 a.m. local time Tuesday morning from hole 10. The Wolfpack will be matched up with competitors from Iowa and Army. (Albuquerque is in the Mountain Time Zone and two hours behind Eastern Time.)
