Wolfpack Posts Strong Finish at #ACCOTF

The men's second-place finish is a 10-spot improvement from their 12th place finish in 2015(33 points) and the highest outdoor finish since 1996. Their 93 points are a 60-point increase from a year ago and the most points scored since the 2008 squad posted 117 points.

On the final day, The Wolfpack 4x100 team of Nyheim Hines, Jonathan Addison, Shannon Patterson won the ACC title with a mark of 39.42. Cunningham also added 14 individual points with a silver in the 200m(20.67) and a bronze medal in the 100m(10.34).
Megan Moye scored 18 points taking the title in the 1,500m with a school, meet and facility record of 4:11.91 in the 1,500m and added a silver medal in the 5,000m with a time of 16:33.10. Luis Vargas earned a silver medal in the 5,000m with a time of 13:53.33. Alexis Perry took silver 100m hurdles with a time 12.93, earning a USATF Olympic Trials cut in the event.
Relays:
The NC State men kicked off the action on the track with its first ACC 4x100 relay title since 1989, winning the event with a blistering 49.32. The Pack dethroned seven-time reigning 4x100 champion Florida State to take the win. Nyhiem Hines, Jonathan Addison, Shannon Patterson and Quashawn Cunningham shaved .10 off their previous season best and moved to the No. 14 4x100 time in the country.

Hines ran the the first leg giving the Wolfpack a slight advantage through 100m before passing to Addison who maintained the the lead. Patterson extended the lead and was the first to pass his baton to the anchor leg. Cunningham thundered down the track and pulled away from the rest of the group to clinch the title.

The women's team earned valuable points for the squad in the 4x100, finishing fifth in 45.41. Paisley Simmons, Gabriele Cunningham, Tiana Patillo and Alexis Perry ran the relay and posted a season best by .59 of a second.
Sprints/Hurdles:
Alexis Perry earned a huge PR of 12.93 to win silver in the women's 100m hurdles and qualify for the USATF Olympic Trials. Perry went neck-and-neck with Kayla Barber of Notre Dame, as both earned Olympic Trials qualifying marks and crossed the finish line less than a one-hundredth of a second between each other. Perry moves within .10 of the school record with the finish.

Perry is now a 12-time All-ACC selection and has earned two medals and 14 points for the women's team at the meet. She also holds Olympic Trials qualifying marks in both the 100m hurdles and long jump.
In the 100m dash, the women added seven points with Cunningham and Simmons finishing fifth and sixth, respectively for second-team All-ACC honors.

Cunningham, who advanced to the finals with a 10.64 PR, crossed the finish line in 11.79 for fifth, and Simmons finished sixth in 11.81.
The men's 100m dash participants finished 3rd-6th to earn 18 points from the event. Quashawn Cunningham led the way in third with a 10.34. Patterson added a huge personal best of 10.39 for fourth, Hines took fifth in 10.42 and Addison finished sixth in 10.43.

The Pack scored 12 more points in the 200m race, as Cunningham won silver and Patterson took fifth with personal bests. Cunningham crossed the finish line in 20:67 and Patterson finished in 21.00 to earn his third All-ACC honor of the event.

Mid-Distance/Distance:
Megan Moye gave the Pack its second ACC title of the night, with a dominating 1,500m race. Moye crossed the finish line in 4:11.91 for a school, ACC Championships and Mike Long Track Facility record.

Moye previously held the school record and tonight's mark is her third time breaking the school record this season. The mark also closes the junior in on a USATF Olympic Trials mark and is ranked second in the NCAA. The title is Moye's first ever ACC individual title.

In the men's race, Graham Crawford earned second-team All-ACC honors with a fifth-place finish in 3:44.41. Crawford's finish scored four more points for the men's squad. Jack Hagood finished 12th in the final with a mark of 3:48.65.
Moye posted another big race in the 5,000m race, kicking to a silver medal in 16:33.10. Moye tracked down the race's leaders over the final lap to catch all but one of her competitors to claim her second medal of the day and fourth of her career.

Alyssa Rudawsky ran with Moye for much of the race and crossed the finish line fifth in 16:43.91 to earn her first ever All-ACC honor and score three points for the women's team.
The men's side posted similar results, as Luis Vargas took home his second silver medal of the weekend and Sam Parsons crossed the finish line in sixth for second-team All-ACC honors.

Vargas and Parsons separated from the chase pack and ran in the front group. On the final lap, Vargas kicked past a group of runners into second place and maintained the position. Vargas went to head-to-head with Tommy Curtin of VT for another high-level finish, crossing the line in 13:53.33. Parsons trailed closely behind with a time of 14:00.96.
Vargas concludes the ACC Championships with 16 individual points behind silver medals from the 5,000m and 10,000m races. He is slated to compete at regionals in both events.
Parsons is a first-time member of the All-ACC track team. The redshirt junior has 5,000m and 10,000m regional marks.
Throws:
Nicole Chavis added an All-ACC performance in the discus, finishing fifth with a throw of 155'5". The finish added four points to the women's team total and brings her to four career All-ACC honors. The three-time weight throw All-American is a first-time All-ACC recipient in the event and is currently qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary.
Jumps:
Javonne Antoine concluded a strong meet for the jumps squad with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump. Antoine finished with a mark of 40'9.75", to earn her first All-ACC honor and score three points for the Pack.

Antoine's finish gave NC State jumpers 27 points from the meet, as the group scored in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. In total, the jump unit took home three medals and five All-ACC honors.
