Softball to Host DoubleTree RDU Invite This Weekend

NC State welcomes Bryant, IUPUI and Ohio to Dail Stadium
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State softball team will host the DoubleTree RDU Invite this weekend at Dail Stadium. Bryant, IUPUI and Ohio are the teams that will make the trip to Raleigh for the event.

NC State begins play in the invite against Ohio at 3 p.m. Friday and takes on Bryant later that evening at 5:30 p.m. Saturday the Pack will play IUPUI at 12:30 p.m.

The event will be a true round-robin tournament, as the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds will meet at 3 p.m. Saturday and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds will play at 5:30 p.m. Sunday the winners from both games meet in the championship game at 12:30 p.m., while the losers will play in the third-place game at 10 a.m.

The Wolfpack enters the weekend with a 13-11 record on the season and a 2-1 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. Bryant is 0-16 on the year, while IUPUI is 7-13 overall and Ohio is 11-7.

In its last outing of the season on Wednesday, NC State earned a 7-2 victory at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Wolfpack scored its seven runs on home runs in the contest following a pair of two-run homers and a three-run blast.
