
Track & Field Aims to Keep Momentum at VT Elite

RALEIGH, N.C. - The nationally ranked NC State track and field teams will aim to continue its strong start to the 2015-16 indoor season. The Wolfpack will head to Blacksburg, Va., for the VT Elite meet from Friday-Saturday.

NC State's athletes will once again compete for national and conference qualifying marks. The team will send a full squad, as 47 will be in competition.

Hot Start:
After breaking two school records, setting three nation-leading marks and earning eighth national-qualifying marks last weekend, both Pack teams made huge leaps in the polls. The women jumped up to No. 8, while the men moved up 35 spots to debut at No. 25.

An Elite Meet:
The meet features SEC competition Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, ACC opponents Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech(host) as well as in-state foe East Carolina.

Of the team's in competition, four men and women's teams are ranked in the USTFCCCA top-25 standings.
