
Wolfpack Remains In Fifth After Day Two Of Tar Heel Invitational

Three players remain in top 20 of individual standings
CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- The NC State women's golf team continued its strong showing at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday, as the Wolfpack turned in a team total of 289 (+1) to remain in fifth place through two days of competition.
NC State heads into the final round with a 36-hole total of 577 (+1). Wake Forest and Alabama lead the 18-team field at 569 (-7), while Ohio State sits in third at 570 (-6) at UNC-Chapel Hill's Finley Golf Course.
India Clyburn, Leonie Bettel and Cecily Overbey all remain in the top 20 of the individual standings. Bettel posted the low round for the Pack on Saturday, matching her day one score of 71 (-1), while Clyburn and Overbey carded scores of 72 and 73, in respective order.
Naomi Ko shaved five strokes off of Friday's round and moved up more than 20 spots on the leaderboard as she finished the day with a one-over par 73. Laura Kowohl additionally posted a 78 (+6) to round out the Pack's day two showing.
Sarah Bae and Crystal Huang, the Pack's two individual competitors, turned in scores of 75 and 76, respectively.
NC State will wrap up play Sunday at the Tar Heel Invitational. There will be a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start as the team will be paired with competitors from Arkansas and Virginia.
