Wolfpack Plays at Coastal Carolina Wednesday

RALEIGH – Following an exciting 2-1 victory in double overtime at Davidson on Sunday, the NC State women's soccer team (4-4-0) plays its final nonconference match of the season at Coastal Carolina Wednesday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. from CCU Soccer Stadium in Conway, S.C.
A WIN ON WEDNESDAY WOULD...
-Be the 326th win in program history
-Be the Pack's second straight road victory
-Improve the Pack's road record to 3-1-0 this season
-Be NC State's third won over Coastal Carolina (third meeting)
SERIES HISTORY
-Wednesday's match marks the third all-time meeting between NC State and Coastal Carolina.
-The Wolfpack holds a 2-0 lead in the series.
-The teams last met on Sept. 4 of last season, with the Wolfpack winning 3-0 in Raleigh.
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
-Coastal Carolina has posted a 3-4-0 record this season.
-Wins: at Wofford (2-1), Georgia Southern (2-1), at UAB (3-1).
-Losses: at Charlotte (4-1), at South Carolina (3-2), at Samford (2-1), at Elon (1-0).
-The Chanticleers were selected to finish third in the Big South this season according to a preseason poll of the league's coaches.
NICE RETURN
Returning from a leg injury which kept her out of the Oregon, William & Mary, and UNCG matches, sophomore Cailyn Boch scored the first goal of her career in the win at Davidson on Sept. 13. Boch put the Pack up 1-0 in the 71st minute on assists from Dayna Tomayko and Crystal Cordova.
VERY CONSISTENT
Redshirt sophomore forward Jackie Stengel has scored 12 goals in 29 career matches, or 0.41 goals per contest. Her game-winning goal at Davidson was her second of the season and the fourth of her career.
SHOT STOPPERS
Goalkeepers Sydney Wootten and Mackenzie Stelljes have been very dependable during the 2015 season. Wootten ranks fourth in the ACC with a .846 save percentage while Stelljes is eighth at .815.
EFFICIENCY IS KEY
Nearly 52 percent of NC State's shots have been on target this season. Of the Wolfpack's 77 attempts, 40 have been on goal.
ROOKIE FIELD PLAYERS
Freshman defender Hannah Keogh leads the team with 736 of a possible 736 minutes played. All six freshmen have played at least 304 minutes this season.
