Wolfpack to Close Nonconference Slate at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - NC State women's soccer closes out nonconference play on Sunday, Sept. 6, with a 7 p.m. matchup at Campbell. The match will air on FloCollege and will also be available to stream on Amazon Prime.

Last Time Out
NC State used a pair of late goals to defeat Western Carolina, 2-0, on Thursday night at the Catamount Athletic Complex. Jade Bordeleau broke through with the game-winning goal in the 80th minute for her team-leading ninth of the season before Mana Nakata added an insurance goal five minutes later. The win moved the Wolfpack to 7-0 for the first time since 2008 and extended its winning streak to seven matches, tied for the third-longest in program history.
The Wolfpack dominated from the start, outshooting Western Carolina 30-3, but needed until the 80th minute to find the breakthrough. Yuna Aoki assisted on Bordeleau's game-winner before Nakata added her first goal of the season in the 85th minute. Riley Pickels made one save to earn her second career shutout.
Scouting the Camels
Campbell enters Sunday's matchup at 3-3-1 after earning a 3-0 shutout victory over Queens on Thursday night. The Camels have recorded three shutouts this season and are coming off back-to-back home wins over Charleston Southern (5-0) and Queens (3-0). Campbell has also faced a challenging nonconference slate, with matchups against East Carolina, Clemson and Coastal Carolina.
Avery Garrett leads the Camels with three goals this season, while Abby Connolly is tied with Garrett for the team lead with six points on two goals and two assists. Campbell is led by head coach Jeff Gross, who is in his fifth season at the helm in 2026.
Series History
Sunday's match will be the 20th all-time meeting between NC State and Campbell. The Wolfpack holds a 16-1-2 advantage in the series.
The most recent meeting came in 2025, when NC State topped Campbell, 4-0, at Dail Soccer Stadium. The victory marked Gary Higgins' first win as head coach of the Wolfpack, while Mary Frances Symmes recorded a brace to lead the way.
