Wolfpack Plays at Davidson Sunday

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team begins a three-match road swing on Sunday afternoon when it visits Davidson. Kickoff between the Wolfpack and Wildcats is set for 2 p.m. from Alumni Soccer Stadium.
Sunday's match will be followed by the final nonconference road trip of the season—Coastal Carolina on September 16—before Atlantic Coast Conference play begins Sept. 20 at Pittsburgh.
A WIN ON SUNDAY WOULD...
-Be the 325th win in program history
-Improve the Pack's road record to 2-1-0 this season
-Be NC State's 10th win over Davidson (12th meeting)
SERIES HISTORY
-Sunday's match marks the 12th all-time meeting between NC State and Davidson.
-The Wolfpack holds a 9-1-0 edge in the series.
-NC State and Davidson last met on August 28 of the 2009 season in Raleigh. The Wolfpack won, 4-1.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
-Davidson has posted a 1-4-0 record this season.
-The Wildcats narrowly lost at No. 12 Virginia Tech on Thursday night by a final score of 2-1.
-All five of Davidson's matches this season have been decided by one goal.
-Davidson was selected 13th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
RACKING UP THE SHOTS
Despite the result of the match against UNC Greensboro, NC State recorded a season-high in shots with 16. Over the last five matches, the Wolfpack is averaging 10.6 shots per outing.
ADJUSTING TO A NEW ROLE
Redshirt junior Dayna Tomayko has made a nice adjustment from defense to midfield over the course of the last few matches. The Virginia native is tied for second on the team with nine shots.
CHALLENGING SCHEDULE
Of NC State's 12 remaining regular-season matches, five feature opponents ranked within the top 21 of the September 8 NSCAA top-25 poll. In all, eight of NC State's 2015 opponents are currently ranked in the top 25.
