Pack Concludes Fall Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The NC State women’s tennis team concluded play at the Kitty Harrison Invitational today, closing out the fall season. The Wolfpack recorded four singles wins and two doubles victories on the final day.
In singles action against Furman, Elisha Hande, Tatiana Illova, Chloe Smith and Ashley Miller all picked up wins. Hande, playing in the No. 2 position, defeated Katherine Oudin 7-5, 6-2. Illova defeated Michele Stanford 6-1, 6-3 in the third position, while Smith topped Alex Moreno 6-7, 6-3 1-0 (8) in the fourth spot. Miller defeated Margaret Boyette 7-6(3), 6-1 in the No. 5 position.
In doubles play against UNCG, Illova and Hande teamed up to defeat the duo of Wilkins/Dougherty 9-7. Christy Sipes and Sophie Nelson defeated Gammie/Rios, 8-6.
The Wolfpack will return to action at home Jan. 21 with matches against Davidson and Winthrop.
