TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Lindsay Campana limited No. 16 Florida State to just three hits and Landon Warren went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs as NC State downed the Seminoles, 3-1 on Sunday in the series finale at JoAnne Graf Field.
The win moves NC State to 24-17 (7-5 ACC) while the Noles dip to 36-8 (8-4 ACC).
Campana (16-6) earned the complete-game decision, picking up three K’s. Sarah Hamilton (18-4) took the loss in 4 2/3 innings of work while Terese Gober tossed the final 2 1/3 for FSU.
Warren’s fourth home run of the season, a solo shot, put the Pack up 1-0 in the top of the third, but Florida State tied things up in the bottom half as Carly Wynn led off with a triple and scored on a Shayla Jackson groundout.
The Pack took the lead back at 2-1 with an unearned run in the top of the fifth when Samantha Melton scored from second on a two out Tiffani Brown fielding error at third. Melton had entered the game in place of Kristine Bechtholdt, who reached on a bunt single.
A Bridget Desbois triple pushed the Pack’s lead to 3-1 in the seventh, plating Warren who had singled earlier.
NC State will host East Carolina this coming Wednesday, April 14, for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
