RALEIGH, N.C. NC State picked up its historic 200th win with a decisive 7-0 victory over Canisius on Friday, Feb. 27 during the first day of the Wolfpack Challenge. Allison Presnell clubbed two home runs and drove in four RBIs while Lindsay Campana (2-3) allowed just two hits. The win moves the Pack to 4-6 on the year, while the Golden Griffins fall to 2-2

The game marked the second time in Presnell’s three-year career that she hit two home runs in the same game.

In the circle, Campana retired the side in order four times and picked up seven strikeouts along the way. Mallory Aldred (1-2) suffered the loss for the Golden Griffins.

Presnell put the Pack up 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth with a home run to left. Alyssa Ishibashi dropped a lead off single into shallow left, and Krystal Hawkins came on to run in her place. Hawkins then swiped second, and Presnell followed by launching one over the wall.

Canisius threatened in the top of the fifth, but Campana kept them off of the scoreboard. Paige Freiberger reached on an error at first, and Emily Helbig walked. Campana then fanned Lauren Falzone before getting Rachelle Barrientos to fly out to right.

A five-run Wolfpack sixth put the game way out of reach. Presnell moved the score to 4-0 with another two-run blast, and Alyssa Allbritten lined an RBI single into right. Two more runs later came around to score when Mackenzie Mangum drew a bases loaded walk, and a pitch hit Ishibashi during the next at-bat.

NC State will take on Notre Dame (11 a.m.) and Buffalo (1 p.m.) tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Wolfpack Challenge. Live stats will be available via GoPack.com.
